26-30 May 2014

Day 1:

Grace, Siewbs, Jo-En and I took a super early flight at 6am on Tiger Airways. Bought our OceanPark tickets and airport train round ticket(HKD128) at one of the counters (A4 Terminal 2) cause it was cheaper! Hung around the airport for quite awhile trying to settle the SIM Card that we bought. Our first meal was at Maxim and the food was so-so compared to the rest of the food that we ate! We then took the train to Kowloon (20mins) and then changed to the Shuttle Bus (15mins) to our hotel, Park Hotel. When we reached, it was too early to check-in so we just wandered around for awhile, had Hui Lao Shan mango dessert which was okay only and quite ex. Went back to check-in and we only booked one room so had to go up sneakily. hahah.
Went to Argyle Centre (Mongkok Station Exit D2) We were so excited about eating the famous cold noodles that we didn't look carefully in the shops and couldn't buy anything even though that place is supposed to be good! The cold noodles were quite good though! You can choose the type of noodles and ingredients you want and then they will mix it with their special mix of chilli, sauce and oil! Walked around there and but alot of other food such as Colgate Ice-Cream, La Po Bing from Hang Heung which was okay only, curry fishballs which are less bouncy as Singapore but still good!
We then headed to Yi Dian Xin (Prince Edward) slightly before dinner time so it wasn't very crowded! The food was okay only but the char siew bun was good! We were really tired so we headed back early to rest and bought snacks and drinks from 7-11 near our hotel.

Day 2:

Ocean Park Day! Headed to McDonalds for our breakfast and the macaroni soup was good! I ordered the Tonkatsu Soup with Sausage and Cheese! The original soup was not as nice, could taste the corn taste! We then took a train to Admiralty Station to take Bus to Ocean Park. The ride was around 20mins. That day the weather was especially hot! We took the cable car up first and the ride was quite scary! We were screaming like some little kids! Worse actually. hahaha. We went to the first ride where only Siewbs and I sat. It was pretty fast but thrilling! Poor Grace had cramps so she couldn't join us for quite a few rides :( We then went to see the dolphin and seal show and drank their super overpriced coke but oh well! All theme parks are like that! Went to take the Tower and got a good view of the whole place! We then took a mini water ride that wasn't scary at all but it cooled us down alot from the burning sun! Grace took a rest by herself while the 3 of us went to take bumper cars, a super short roller coaster that went 2 rounds and another ride that was kind of like a swing but very high up. The wind up there was shiokkkk! Went back to get Grace and she was feeling better so we went back for the short roller coaster again! We then took a cable car down. By then it was around late afternoon and we didn't have much time left. We took selfies with the shark mascot and went to look at the pandas and goldfish! The souvenir shop was pretty interesting too!

We took the bus back to Admiralty Station and trained to Central Station (Exit D2) to try the famouse goose meat at Yung Kee Restaurant. Unfortunately, we did not make a reservation so we had to wait quite a while so we ended up going to another goose shop (Yat Lok) nearby which was quite good as well! Went for yoghurt after that nearby. Super pricey but good!

Day 3:

Went for breakfast at Australian Dairy Co (Jordan Exit C2) When we reached, we didn't have to wait long before getting a seat. The scrambled eggs were gooood! So was the bread and macaroni soup. The egg and custard pudding was okay only, a bit gelat. We then moved on to Langham Place Mall (Mongkok Exit E1/C3) Bought 2 pieces of clothing there. The mall is full of shops but the beauty shops there are more pricy compared to Sasa. We had Tsui Wah for Lunch. The food there was good tooo! Headed to Causeway Bay Forever 21 to shop (though I didn't managed to get anything) and then back to a eating place near our hotel which sucked!! Walked over to Avenue of Stars which was actually a waste of time. It wasn't as nice as what we thought it would be! Ordered Hui Lao Shan Mango drink before heading back to rest for the night.

Day 4:

Our plan was to have breakfast at Lan Fong Yuen which was a short walk form the hotel. Went to check out Jenny's Bakery as wel;. The queue was super long way before the shop was opened. We didn't want to queue so I had to go to the front and ask someone buy for me. Thankfully a lady was kind enough to help me! (: Lan Fong Yuen sadly wasn't opened yet so we headed to Fa Yuen Street Food Centre Level 3 (Mongkok Exit B2/B3) to try Mui Kee Congee. It was quite okay? Congee usually taste the same to me. haha. But the congee there is supposed to be quite good! Went to try Sham Tseng Chan Kee after pestering the rest about it. Haha. The roast goose skin wasn't very crispy but the char siew was quite nice!

Went back to Argyle Centre to give it a second try and i guess we bought a little more stuff? haha. Ha cold noodles again plus Baked Rice from Bai Jia Le which was quite nice! By then we were quite tired already but we still headed to Yung Kee (Central Exit D2). We didn't have to queue at all. Ordered roast goose, fried rice and egg tarts. Some preferred the roast goose at Yat Lok while some preferred the one here! Headed to Causeway Bay but couldn't find anything cheap there. Tried Crumbs yoghurt which was good! Walked around the basement of Sogo, which is kind of like Taka basement-full of food!!! We realised that the H&M Flagship Store was at Tsim Sha Tsui so we walked over from our hotel and managed to buy some items for our boyfriends and family members! Bought Mcdonalds back for supper and the beef burger was super good!!

Day 5:

Our last breakfast in Hong Kong was at Lin Heung Tea House (Central Exit E2). It's a traditional breakfast place where you have to share table with others and there are people pushing pushcarts with food. You choose what you want and pass them the card to chop! It was quite chaotic when the pushcart arrived. I felt that the food there was okay only and the choices were quite limited! We walked around that area. Super a lot of pretty shops. It was uphill with escalators (where Running Men went to film) and then we realised there was nothing much so we had to walk back down. >.<  We went to Expresso @ The Excelsior Hong Kong to buy back to famous Lord Stow Egg Tarts! It comes in boxed of 4 and 6! There's 5% discount if you buy more than 10 boxes! Went to Ho Hung Kee at Hysan Place to try the Wanton Noodles. It was damnnnnn good! Was looking forward to trying the croissant at Le Salon Restaurant et Croissanterie but sadly they didn't sell the croissants individually anymore :( So we went to Sogo basement to get crepe plus matcha ice cream! (: It was time to head back to the hotel to catch the airport bus back :( We had dinner before entering transit and we totally forgot about the time so we ran all the way in, and of all times, I was stopped for security check and then we still had to catch a bus to the gate. We were so scared that we would miss our flight but thank god we made it in time. haha. It was a great trip as usual with them! First trip with Jo-En! (: Looking forward to more crazy retarded trips together! (:
