TAIWAN Trip with the Family! (:

Day 1 in Taiwan

Reached Taoyuan International Airport at ard 1.45pm. Went to the food court for lunch before taking the bus to Taoyuan HSR where we took the train to Taichung HSR. When we came out wanting to find the taxi stand, this guy whom we thought was the HSR staff guided us there and took us to wait for awhile and then he drove his taxi over.  Lol. So actually he's a taxi driver and he suggested being our driver for the day after. After discussing we agreed.


We reached Beacon Hotel not long after. Fengjia Night Market was just at our door step! Ate quite alot of different food and shopped quite a bit! Saw people filming a show. The host was Wu Fong. He's an angmoh who hosts alot of taiwan shows! We had no idea who he was but just joined in taking photos of him and even with him! XD It was a fri night and most shops closed ard 1.30am. We shopped till 12.30am before heading back to the hotel to rest for the night.


 
Day 2

We met up with the taxi driver who brought us for traditional Taiwanese breakfast. It's not the typical tourist place but a place where we only saw locals so we were quite happy about it!



The food was good too especially the milk tea!!

After that we headed to Cingjing Farm. The journey up was so winding that I almost puked. After what felt like a really longgggg time, we finally reached the top. It was quite cold there! We bought tickets (discounted price for students) and entered and it was really like a grassland with many goats and quite a good place to take photos! There were some other animals there but we didn't see. Apparently there was supposed to be sheep shearing but we watched it before so we gave it a miss.




Walked around before heading down where there were lots of shops selling food. We were supposed to meet our guide just outside the exit but he was nowhere to be seen and we thought that he ran away with our stuff. hahaha. We asked a policeman to help us call him. He actually fetched some other customers up to the entrance and was really apologetic to us. hahah. We then headed to Carton King and Little Swiss Garden which basically is a mini world with mini eiffel towel and other things there like a huge pond but honestly, I don't think it's worth the money (ard S$4) Carton King Shop was quite interesting where they sold products made of cardboard! Really cool concept. The driver then brought us for lunch along the way down where the view was fantastic!!! The food there was quite good too!






It was then another 1+hr ride to Sun Moon Lake where we were to stay for the night. The room at Hu Yue Lakeside was huge cause we bookd the suite for 4 of us but the only problem was that there was only one toilet. But other than that, the room was good! There was a balcony facing the pier too! We then headed to a restaurant recommended by the guide. We only paid NT1000 for about 6 dishes! So it cost around $9 for 5 of us. The food wasn't just ordinary, it was good too! Walked around and bought food and taiwan beer before heading back to the hotel for our supper! XD








Day 3

Woke up early for breakfast before going to the pier for our free boat ride to the Xuanguang Temple where part of the famous Monk Xuan Guang's bone piecec was place and enshrined. There was the super famous Ah Po Cha Ye Dan there! Everyone who went there bought it and I think it's quite yummy! (:




Headed back to our hotel where the driver picked us up and brought us to another local shop for lunch! Braised duck rice! It's like lu rou fan but they used duck instead. It was another satisfying meal and my dad was even more satisfied with the driver/tour guide. hahaha. The driver then bought us milk tea from the original shop too and then their famous dessert which is like Blackball but ALOT nicer! Super popular with the youngsters there! We then went to pluck grapes while on the way to Taipei. My first time plucking fruit straight from the plant! It was quite cheap too! Around $16 for four of us including one box of grapes! Hope to go back and pluck other fruits such as peaches during the other seasons!













It was another longggg journey to Taipei and after a few hours, we finally reached out hotel- Cosmos hotel! We quickly checked in before cabbing to Wufenpu! Of course, we had to eat the famous Formosa Zhang's lu rou fan first! But we felt it wasn't as good as before! All of us split up when shopping in wufenpu so that we could each see our own things and maximise time. Headed to Raohe Night Market but we mostly bought food only! Time to rest for the night!









Day 4

We headed to Zhongxiao Fuxing Station to eat Din Tai Fung!! The place I was super looking forward too!! The xlb was legend-wait for it-DARYYY! It was sooooooo gooooood! So was the pork cutlet fried rice!! Nomxzxzxz. Walked around there before heading nearby to Kao Chi which is DTF's competitor. The xlb wasn't as good as DTF's one but it wasn't too bad either! Headed to Ximending cause there wasn't much to shop there but the things there were quite ex so we didn't buy anything at all and ended up at Starbucks chilling!









Planned to go Shilin initially but because we went there before, we decided to go to Shida Night Market where we bought quite alot of things! But rmb to ask for the prices before you try because some shops do not have price tags and they pick outfits for you to try first and make you like it before telling you the price! So bewareee! We had food there of course, from the famous Red Lantern stall, dessert and oyster omelette! Last night in taipei already :(
 



Day 5

Woke up early again to go to Shandao Temple Station (1 stop away) to eat the famous Fu hang Doujiang. The queue is so long that it stretches from the second floor all the way down to the first floor! They're famous for the 咸豆漿 (Salty Soy Milk) & 厚燒餅夾蛋 (Thick Bread with dough fritter and egg)We ordered those plus the thin version of the bread with egg and some biscuits plus both hot and cold soy milk which ii prefer then the salty ones. The hot one tasted nicer though! We then walked around our hotel area, where we bought souvenirs back home such as the How Sweet egg pudding where they put the pudding into the egg shell and we found it quite unique! Headed to the airport for lunch where i had Macdonalds again and then back to Sporeee!






17th/18th July: Adventure Cove

Mummy bought tickets to adventure cove so we headed there! It was a weekday so it wasn't thatttt crowded! But we still had to queue for rides and some took ard 20mins! Spent quite alot of time lazing ard at the Adventure River and Bluewater Ray with my personalised safety floatttt! Heh! XD Tried all the rides but still like Riptide Rocket most! (: Headed to vivo to eat at Fruit Paradise, The Chicken Rice Shop and Swee Choon cause I was craving for or and he was so nice to help me satisfy all my cravings before I fly! ♥

Went for Korean bbq buffet with J's family at Ju Shin Jung Korean Charcoal BBQ ard west coast area! Tried wagyu beef for the first time! I think. Haha. Was superrrrr full after that! Was supposed to eat lesser before I headed to Taiwan but ended up eating more :(
